On the Path of Awakening
A Weekend Retreat
With Keri Pederson on October 5th and 6th
Where: The Port Townsend Yacht Club, located at 2503 Washington Street
When: Saturday October 5 from 9 AM – 5 PM & Sunday from 10 AM to 3 PM
We are always practicing something: Doubt and Discouragement, or Discernment and Devotion. In times of challenge, either internally or externally, it’s easy to get swept into familiar ways of responding that drain our energy and leave us wandering in circles.
Insight meditation is a path for recognizing these unskillful trends. It offers effective practices that are onward-leading and support transformation. We will explore both of these dynamics in this practice weekend.
Keri Pederson is primarily a student of the dharma, but teaches regularly when invited. She began meditating in 1998, motivated by a deepening yoga practice as well as a strong desire to understand suffering. She began formal retreat practice in the tradition of S. N. Goenka, and has since sat retreats with a variety of lay and monastic teachers is the U.S., Thailand, and India. Rodney Smith invited her to teach in 2007 and she was authorized to teach by Spirit Rock/IMS/IRC after a four year retreat-teacher training. Keri also works in elder-care and lives on Vashon Island with her husband and young son.
We hope you can join us.
Suggested Contribution to cover rent and costs: $30. A dana basket will be provided for the teacher. All are welcome regardless of ability to pay.
