Our library is located at the Port Townsend Friends Meeting House. There are many books on meditation practice available for borrowing.
On occasion we offer an introduction to meditation class. If you would like to attend an introduction, or would like more information, contact us about your interest. We will hold this class when requested, so feel free to let us know your needs.
If you prefer an online course, the Insight Meditation Center offers a 6-week online course that includes telephone or Skype consultations with a teacher. This course is based on a 6-week Introduction to Meditation course offered by Gil Fronsdal. You can download or listen to the talks online. You can also read transcripts of the talks.
Rodney Smith has been a guiding teacher of the Seattle Insight Meditation Society (SIMS). He has a 6 week series of introductory talks online. SIMS also offers introductory classes in the Seattle area.
Sharon Salzberg and Joseph Goldstein have created an Insight Meditation Kit, published by Sounds True, that contains two CDs and a workbook. The CD is available in the Port Townsend Sangha’s Lending Library.
Dharma Seed and Audio Dharma are two online resources for talks by a wide range of Vipassana teachers.
