For Meditation and a Talk
On Tonglen Practice
By Pema Chödrön
You are invited to join the Port Townsend Sangha members and friends for a most interesting evening planned for Wednesday, April 21st, at 7 pm on Zoom – featuring a dharma talk, guided meditation, silent meditation and a discussion….and announcements.
The subject will be Tonglen practice as described by Pema Chödrön. An introduction by Pema is found in this short article – How to Practice Tonglen.
After our opening chant at 7 pm, there will be a short introduction to Tonglen practice, followed by a guided Tonglen meditation by Pema and a period of silent meditation.
Then we will listen to a selection from How to Turn Pain into Compassion with Tonglen Meditation by Pema. It will be followed by a general discussion and announcements. We have heard other parts of this talk before, and participants found them of value. The entire talk is found at the link above. We hope you will join us this week at 7 PM.
Pema Chödrön is an American Tibetan Buddhist. She is an ordained nun, former acharya of Shambhala Buddhism and disciple of Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche. Chödrön has written several dozen books and audiobooks, and is principal teacher at Gampo Abbey in Nova Scotia.
