A Teacher-Led Day of Mindfulness on November 9th

Port Townsend Sangha’s

November Day of Mindfulness

On Saturday, November 9th, from 9 am to 5 pm, the Port Townsend Sangha will offer a Day of Mindfulness with a respected visiting teacher who has provided inspiration in the past, and is returning for a day to conduct this one-day retreat.

New and experienced meditators are welcome. The retreat is based in the Vipassana tradition, and consists of sitting and walking meditation, dharma talks and a break for a shared lunch. The practical application of the Buddha’s teaching will be discussed in a manner that is warm-hearted, clear and immediate.

The Day of Mindfulness (DoM) will be held at the Friends Meeting House at the corner of Sheridan and 19th Streets in Port Townsend. A registration form is here.

We will practice silence during the retreat. For a shared lunch, please bring a potluck item. If you mark your offering, it will help vegetarians and those with special diets know what to select. Tea will be provided.

If you like to sit on a cushion, please bring one. There will be a few available, and chairs will also be provided for your use.

To help pay for the space and teacher travel, there is a $20 suggested contribution. However, all are welcome regardless of ability to contribute. A separate dana basket will be provided for the teacher.

We look forward to seeing you! If you are not on the Sangha mailing list, and wish more information about the event, please contact us here.
